    The “Local Foods” movement has become one of one of today’s hottest trends pursued by aspiring, growth-oriented and environmentally conscious businesses. There is a growing demand for the freshest, cleanest and most nutritious food available. Despite this huge opportunity, there remain some unique challenges in order to create a sustainable local farm-to-market plan. These include safety, legal and economic considerations. This session will guide you through important first-steps as you evaluate and become familiar with the best local resources and practices to formalize a rewarding This program is not age specific and is a primer for those exploring farm-to-market possibilities. This session will cover: • What are “local foods” and what factors drive this market opportunity. • What are the primary market channels to get local products sold and which one you should work best for your specific circumstances? • Where are the best practices and resources to finance and structure safe, legal and profitable Local Foods business models
