    Fall Food Preservation Camp

    Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Springfield Botanical Center located inside the Nathanael Greene and Close Memorial Parks

    Description:

    A follow-up to our popular summer food preservation class, our instructor covers topics relevant to fall gardens and winter preparation. The camp will include a session on freezing/dehydrating, a session on pressure canning and a session on pickling. Our instructor will again be Lindsey Stevenson, nutrition and health educations specialist with University of Missouri Extension. Deli sandwiches, chips and water/tea will be served for lunch. Stevenson recommends attendance at all three sessions because of the related topics.

    Registration:

    Seating is limited to 25 people. Attendees will receive a reminder phone one day before event. Those that have an email address will receive a link to download all class materials online as a PDF for free. Printed copies can be purchased day of event for $5 per packet. more...
