Ripley County Private Pesticide Applicator Training
Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This training will be held at the 4-H Building at the Ripley County Fairgrounds.
Missouri law requires all purchasers and users of restricted-use pesticides to attend a training session to be certified for a private applicators license. Many commonly used pesticides require a private applicator license. The training will allow individuals to recertify or receive initial training to be licensed to purchase and apply restricted-use pesticides on property owned or rented. Make sure to look at the expiration date on your license to see if you need to recertify.
Once the training is complete, Missouri Department of Agriculture will issue a license that is good for five years. Individuals wishing to attend must be 18 years of age or older. Individuals unable to attend the training class can receive their license by watching a video at your local Extension Office. Please call the office to schedule a time.
To register contact the MU Extension office in Ripley County at (573)-996-2921. Training sessions may be offered in surrounding counties, contact your local MU Extension office to find the program nearest you.
If you are recertifying be sure to bring your pesticide reference manual so that you will not be required to purchase a new one. The cost of the manual is $12.
