The Missouri 4-H Key Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the 4-H program. The requirements that must be met can be somewhat confusing and Key Award Applications have declined because of this. Franklin County 4-H Youth Development staff have sought to overcome this by offering Key Award Preparation as a 4-H Project for interested teens. The project members learn more about the requirements, receive help in identifying a mentor, and work together to form a plan to complete the requriements.
