Eat Well Be Well with Diabetes includes four, two-hour weekly sessions that provides people with type 2 diabetes, and their family members, with knowledge and skills necessary for proper diabetes self-management. Knowledge and skills gained in the program can be applied to preventing diabetes particularly for people with pre-diabetes. The series include a strong focus on nutrition, the cornerstone of diabetes management, but also covers other self-management strategies to help individuals avoid short-term and long-term diabetes complications.

Recovering From the Drought

Targeted program to teach producers how to improve forage production economic return while protecting the environment. Techniques include management intensive grazing, pasture based dairying, seasonal feeding systems, and fescue toxosis. The program inspires increased economic development and social viability in rural Missouri.
Session topic:
Program will discuss the impact the drought has had on forage production. Specific discussion topics are replanting decisions and fall planting, nitrate and prussic acid poisoning, as well as stretching the hay supply.
