Today, the Master Gardener volunteer program is recognized nationally as a means for individuals to learn and to share horticultural knowledge with others.
The goal of the program is to involve the community in enhancing the local environment and economy through improved horticulture practices and education. Master Gardeners serve as representatives of the University of Missouri Extension.
