    Description:

    Whoa! If you love horses, are 13-18, and dream of future with horses, you don’t want to miss this amazing trip! The 2013 Missouri 4-H Equine Tour is headed to the wide open spaces of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas to explore the indigenous equine careers and western horse industry May 21-27. Just a few of the plans on this busy itinerary will include visits to prestigious equine collegiate programs, western performance horse ranches, Remington Quarter Horse Race Track, National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Fort Worth Stockyards, custom saddle and boot makers, meeting renowned trainers and equine medical experts, the Oklahoma City Memorial, and meeting up with rodeo professionals. This is just the beginning! The $550 tour fee includes most meals, hotels, transportation on a chartered bus, admission fees, tour shirts/bags/group photo.     Chronic Disease Self-Management (Session 1 of 6)

    Description:

    The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) is a community-based program which assists participants in maintaining quality of life when faced with chronic medical conditions. The CDSMP is provided in two and a half hour sessions, once a week for six weeks, in community settings (e.g. senior centers, churches, libraries). People with different chronic health problems attend together. Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom deal with chronic diseases themselves. Subjects covered include: 1) techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation, 2) appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance, 3) appropriate use of medications, 4) communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, 5) nutrition, and 6) how to evaluate new treatments. Classes are highly participative, where mutual support and success build the participants' confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives.

    Complete your financial education with this third course in our seminar series. This class is designed to teach you how to create and use a cash budget to prepare for future business performance. During this course, you will learn to estimate future sources and uses of cash. You will also learn how to analyze your predictions to make more informed decisions. You should leave this session feeling more comfortable about decisions related to preparing for growth, realistic loan and financing requests, how much cash you can safely take out of the business, and how to make affordable purchases for your business. At its conclusion, you should be able to: forecast sales, receivables and expenses, use a cash budget to create a month-by-month view and calculate Break-Even, as it relates to business expansions, workforce additions or capital expenditures.
