FREE Tax Preparation by Appointment, Savannah, MO (Session 7 of 14)

Description:

If you are low- to moderate-income, and would like help with filing your taxes, we will help you at no cost to you. Free tax returns can also be prepared for high school and college students; as well as individuals and families who do not own a business.
You do need to make an appointment. You can make your appointment by calling your local University of Missouri Extension Center or call the Andrew County Extension Center at 816.324.3147, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or you can leave a message and Kathy or Rebecca will return your call. Bring picture IDs for all adults, Social Security cards for everyone you are claiming, W-2s, 1099s, etc. It is also a good idea to bring anything you receive in the mail that indicates it is tax related and a copy of your last years’ tax return.

Advanced Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (Session 7 of 11)

Family Nutrition ProgramCooking Matters, Adrian (Session 5 of 6)

Description:

Adults participating in Cooking Matters will learn basic cooking techniques as they prepare two dishes in each of the six classes. Each week there is also a nutrition education lesson that includes information on how to make the most of your food dollar, reading food labels and planning menus. Participant take home ingredients for one of the recipes each week.

Session topic:

Participants will participate in a supermarket tour. They will learn about looking for the unit price on food to decide how to get the most of their food dollar. They will look at bread and cereal to learn how to tell if the product is whole wheat.

Youth Civic Leaders Summit

The Youth Civic Leaders Summit is a statewide weekend retreat for young people who are active or aspiring leaders and decision-makers in their communities, and the adults who support them. Teams of youth ages 13-18 and adults representing 4-H Councils, Junior/Senior Leaders, Youth EXCEL, regional Youth Summits, County Extension Councils, and similar groups are encouraged to attend. This year's theme is "Oh the Places You'll Go WITH 4-H!" and will involve diverse teams in learning and applying the four parts of the 4-H citizenship mission mandate. Participants will be challenged to grow and shine as leaders through local community civic engagement involving clubs, councils, and communities.
