If you are low- to moderate-income, and would like help with filing your taxes, we will help you at no cost to you. Free tax returns can also be prepared for high school and college students; as well as individuals and families who do not own a business.
You do need to make an appointment. You can make your appointment by calling your local University of Missouri Extension Center or call the Andrew County Extension Center at 816.324.3147, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or you can leave a message and Kathy or Rebecca will return your call. Bring picture IDs for all adults, Social Security cards for everyone you are claiming, W-2s, 1099s, etc. It is also a good idea to bring anything you receive in the mail that indicates it is tax related and a copy of your last years’ tax return.

In this program that is delivered during private pesticide applicator training education will cover pesticide use and its impact on water quality.

Session topic:

Agricultural producers who wish to apply or purchase restricted use pesticides are required to attend training to obtain a new or renew their license. This training supplements the private pesticide applicator training.

Registration:

Participants are encouraged to register for training so that we can prepare sufficient materials and seating. Participants are required to either bring with them a copy of the Private Pesticide Applicator Manual or purchase a copy at the training. The manual costs $12. Multiple participants from the same farm may share a manual. Participants may register by calling the Franklin County University of Missouri Extension Center at (636) 583-5141 or emailing herringm@missouri.edu.

Relatives As Parents--Northland Grandfamilies (Session 15 of 23)

Description:

The Northland Grandfamilies program serves grandparents in Clay and Platte Counties who are raising their grandchildren. The program also serves aunts/uncles and other relatives who are raising children under the age of 18. The program seeks to raise awareness of the issues facing grandparents/aunts/uncles who are filling the parenting role. Advocacy, education and referral services are important aspects of the program. Support group meetings are scheduled twice a month, with guest speakers on topics of interest. The program is made possible by a partnership of the Clay County Extension Council, the Platte County Senior Fund and Clay County Senior Services.

Session topic:

This month's evening support group meeting will be devoted to sharing of current issues and concerns by the grandparents.

Any grandparent who is raising grandchildren age 18 or younger is welcome to participate in Northland Grandfamilies. Private Pesticide Applicator Certification is required to purchase restricted use pesticides. Attend this training to obtain or renew Private Pesticide Applicator Certification. This training session will also address pesticides and water quality. Farms not already in possession of the Missouri Private Pesticide Applicator Training Manual must purchase one at the training to receive certification.
