University of Missouri Extension is offering tax schools at 6 sites for preparers of income tax returns. These schools will deal with a broad range of tax issues with an emphasis on business/farm taxation. These schools will be taught by Mike Hardin, Ph.D., Enrolled Agent, and Retired Professor of Agricultural Economics, Oklahoma State University; Parman Green, MU Extension Ag Business Specialist; and Catherine Murphy, Stakeholder Liaison & Area Disaster Coordinator, Internal Revenue Service. Missouri’s Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase aging adults’ access to a safe, structured, and effective strength training program. Over the 10 weeks, participants learn exercises to improve their strength, flexibility and balance. At each session, a prescribed set of 8 upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.
