Stay Strong Stay Healthy is a strength training program to help men and women increase strength, flexibility and balance. Missouri's Stay Strong Stay Healthy (SSSH) program was designed to increase middle-age and older adults' access to a safe, structured and effective strength training program. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial for health.

Missouri Preservation Conference

Statewide conference that looks at historic renovation and preservation in the state and provides attendees with examples and resources to be a success. This year, the conference includes two presentations from MU Extension and volunteers with the Missouri Historic Schools Alliance. One presentation includes a panel of volunteers who have successfully renovated historic one-room schools in Clay, Jackson, Jasper, Greene and Texas counties.

The goal of the Advanced SSSH program is to increase on the fitness base acquired from SSSH by adding new and more challenging exercises. Advanced SSSH is designed to challenge older adults in new and different ways, to help avoid staleness and plateaus, and to improve activities of daily living. This program features exercises using resistance from body weight, hand weights, and ankle weights. It also features balance exercises, core exercises, low back exercises, and flexibility exercises.
