2017 SEMO District Fair

When:  Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, 8 a.m. to Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, 9 p.m.

Description:

4-H members exhibit and display their projects during the SEMO District Fair. Events are held throughout the week. 4-Her's will show their animals starting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in their respective tents. Members will also sell their animals on Thursday night starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Livestock Arena.

International Market Place - Chef Cook-Off Events (SSHW) (Session 5 of 5)

When:  Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where:  
We are the go to place for your business. We provide you with education, programs, and networking opportunities in order to grow your success. We bring businesses together. What We Do: -Offer business classes (I.e. business 101, marketing, website development, etc.) -Create opportunities for businesses to come together and share concerns and successes. -Coordinate microloans, business programs, and lunch & learns. -Promote and market our business members.

Description:

The chef cook-off events will be a series of four events where one chef will show-off their cultural cuisine from around the world, and participants/select judges will vote on their presentation. The two chefs with the most votes will enter the Chef Cook-Off held during the International Marketplace Taste and Tour Event held September 9th, 2017 at 5:30 PM- 9:30 PM. Chef/Restaurants presenting: • Anthony’s (Italian)—May 20 • Blue Nile (Ethiopia)—June 17 • El Paso Del Norte (Hispanic)—July 15 August 19

Session topic:

This is final Chef Cook-off at the International Marketplace Event, organized by Northeast Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held at: Chambers address: 2657 Independence Avenue Kansas City, MO 64124

Japanese Fall Festival (Session 2 of 2)

Farm Trade Show Private Pesticide Applicator Training

When:  Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, 10 a.m. to noon

Training will be held at the Alton School Multi-Purpose Building during the Farm Trade Show.

Description:

Missouri law requires anyone who wishes to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicators License. Through this training, participants will learn how to safely handle and apply pesticides. Topics covered included laws and regulations, pest control, pesticide labels, pesticide formulations, personal protective equipment, pesticides and the environment, equipment calibration, transportation, storage, and disposal of pesticides and their containers, emergency response protocols, and worker protection standard guidelines.

Those who are recertifying and already have a Private Pesticide Applicator manual will not have to purchase one. Those who are attending the training for the first time or who do not have a manual will be required to purchase one for $12.00
