Do you have concerns about falling? "A Matter of Balance" can help reduce the fear of falling and increase your activity level. Crowd Sourcing Workshop

When you combine the concept of outsourcing with the power of Internet-connected individuals, you have Crowd Sourcing. Companies are using crowd sourcing to raise funds for start-ups, get product ideas for the next line of merchandise, and to solve problems that seem too big for the organization.

How can your company utilize crowd sourcing? In this workshop we will explore the following “crowd” topics and discuss how you can take advantage of this new technology-enabled workforce: Crowd Funding and Capital Raising, Crowd Creativity and Idea/Content Generation, Crowd Wisdom, Problem-solving and Decision-making, and Crowd Work.

Description:

The University of Missouri Extension has trained volunteers for the Missouri Master Gardener program since 1983. After completing the Core Course, Master Gardeners advise and train communities on gardening and environmental horticulture, and participate in various educational service projects. The volunteer based, not-for-profit Master Gardener program is instrumental in building strong communities in our region.

Participants will become certified as Master Gardeners after taking the 30-plus hour training course and fulfilling the first year’s 30 hour garden education related volunteer requirement. Every subsequent year, certification is maintained through the completion of at least 20 hours of volunteer time on projects and taking an additional 6 hours of continued horticultural education.

Building Strong Families--Hillcrest (Session 4 of 8)

Extension specialists partner with Hillcrest Ministries to offer the Building Strong Families program year-round. Adults who reside in Hillcrest Transitional Living communities are required to attend life skills classes during their stay. Case managers and resident managers enroll the participants and keep the attendance roster updated with the Clay County Extension Center. Individuals who are not residents of Hillcrest Transitional Living may participate in the Building Strong Families program on a case by case basis, and if space allows.
