FastTrac New Venture (Session 1 of 5)

Description:

In FastTrac® NewVenture TM you will look at all aspects of your proposed company, exploring the feasibility of your business concept and learning how to develop a viable business plan. Participants will learn about start-up issues and learn to address the competition, legal matters, marketing and financial management aspects. FastTrac® participants don't just learn about business, they work on their own business endeavors throughout the course. This program is fast-paced and energizing, using guest speakers and lots of group breakout activities. This is a five day workshop with materials and lunch provided. Workshop dates are September 22-26, 2014, times 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily. Workshops are no cost to dislocated workers. To register, individuals must be currently unemployed and enrolled in the WIA Program at one of the Missouri Career Centers. Visit online at jobs.mo.gov to enroll. The Advanced Stay Strong Stay Healthy program was developed in 2009 by a team of MU Extension Specialists to meet the increasing need for a follow-up program to the 10 week Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program.
The goal of the Advanced SSSH program is to increase on the fitness base acquired from SSSH by adding new and more challenging exercises. Advanced SSSH is designed to challenge older adults in new and different ways, to help avoid staleness and plateaus, and to improve activities of daily living. This program features exercises using resistance from body weight, hand weights, and ankle weights. It also features balance exercises, core exercises, low back exercises, and flexibility exercises.
