    Better Choices, Better Health - Diabetes Self-Management (Session 3 of 6)

    Description:

    The Diabetes Self-Management program is a 6-week community-based class that assists participants in managing their type 2 diabetes. This program, developed at the Stanford Patient Education Research Center, covers topics including: techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, exercise for maintaining and improving strength and endurance, healthy eating, meal planning, appropriate use of medication, and working with health care providers. Participants make weekly action plans, share experiences and help each other solve problems they encounter in creating and carrying out their self-management program. A self-management book, CD and refreshments included. The program is free but pre-registration is required and space is limited.

    Description:

    Court ordered parenting class to help divorced and separated parents learn how to support their children through the divorce process and how to work together in co-parenting their children; Focus on Kids satisfies the Missouri law that requires parents who are divorcing or filing a motion to modify the original divorce decree, or who have never been married but have filed a child custody case, to attend an educational parenting program.

    Information Session about Certification to Work From Home: Rural Remote Certification Training

    The “Rural Online Initiative” [ROI] launches a pilot program on October 7th for Missouri residents. This program is being provided by the University of Missouri Extension in conjunction with Utah State Extension to help residents develop the skills needed to successfully compete for remote employment.
