2017 SEMO District Fair

Description:

4-H members exhibit and display their projects during the SEMO District Fair. Events are held throughout the week. 4-Her's will show their animals starting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in their respective tents. Members will also sell their animals on Thursday night starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Livestock Arena.

Diabetes Self-Management (Session 4 of 6)

Diabetes is an elaborate condition that requires careful attention to keep it in check. Diabetes Self-Management is a program designed to help individuals with diabetes find strategies to monitor their condition through lifestyle modifications. Class topics include, nutrition, physical activity, action planning, medications, monitoring your blood sugar, and more. This class is also beneficial for individuals who care for a loved one with diabetes.

Description:

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults’ access to a safe, structured, and effective strength-training program. Over eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance. At each class, a prescribed set of eight upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.
