A collaboration of agencies, organizations, educational institutions, non-profits, faith communities and volunteers, headed by AARP and University of Missouri Extension will plan and host the 2014 Kansas City Area Grandfamilies Conference. The planning committee will meet on a regular basis, leading up to the conference which will be held on October 17, 2014.

Building Strong Families classes are offered in partnership with the Hillcrest Transitional Living program in Platte County. Hillcrest residents have been homeless or at-risk for homelessness. During their stay in Hillcrest apartments, residents must complete a variety of classes to assist them in becoming self-sufficient.
Session 3 in the Building Strong Families series is "Setting & Achieving Goals".
Transitional living residents are enrolled in the Building Strong Families classes by their case managers at Hillcrest.
