Join MU Extension Agriculture specialists, to learn about management options for dealing with the drought in your farming operation. Some topics to be covered will include precautions with nitrates, stretching hay supplies, supplementing pasture and hay, soil fertility after a drought, etc. Questions are welcomed! The goal is to answer your questions in an open forum format.

Show Me 4-H Wares - Youth Selling Items at the State Fair
When: Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, 9 a.m. to Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, 5 p.m.

The 6th Annual Show Me 4-H Wares booth is accepting applications for young entrepreneurs to market and sell 4-H projects, or other original goods or services at the Missouri State Fair on August 9, 10, 11 or 12, 2012. The 4-H youth marketplace is located in the Mizzou Central Building.
Individual 4-H youth, or groups of up to three youth representing a 4-H club, can apply to market or sell original products or services (except food products to be consumed at the fair).
Youth enrolled in the 4-H entrepreneurship project, or participating in Show Me 4-H Wares county fair booths, are encouraged to apply, but any 4-H member is eligible.

Registration:
The application should include:
1. A thorough description of the product or service
2. A recommendation from an unrelated adult
3. A sample item or quality photo of the item
4. Approval of county 4-H staff
Up to 16 youth exhibitors will be selected to represent Missouri 4-H, and to display/sell in a 4-hour or 8-hour timeslot on August 9, 10, 11, or 12. Exhibitors will start being selected after July 1. Youth may apply until August 1, or until all booth spaces fill up. more...

Better Choices, Better Health is a 6 week workshop that teaches you the skills you need to manage your symptoms and take control of your health! Learn how to: deal with stress, fear, and anxiety; manage medications; manage symptoms; eat healthier; communicate more effectively; and sleep better.
