In FastTrac® NewVenture TM, a program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, you will look at all aspects of your proposed company, exploring the feasibility of your business concept and learning how to develop a viable business plan. Participants will learn about start-up issues and learn to address the competition, legal matters, marketing and financial management aspects. FastTrac® participants don't just learn about business, they work on their own business endeavors throughout the course. This program is fast-paced and energizing, using guest speakers and lots of group breakout activities.

Cover Crops Workshop

Description:

Soil health has been a hot topic in agriculture lately. The term soil health is often used interchangeably with soil quality. Both refer to the capacity of soil to sustain plant and animal productivity, maintain or enhance water and air quality and support human health and habitation. Cover crops can be used on crop fields to help with weed control, build soil structure, and also can also be used as emergency forage for livestock production. This workshop will teach attendees the basics about cover crops.
