Ozark Empire Fair Hay Show

Ozark Empire Fair Hay Show, Springfield, Mo. Extension specialists will collect hay samples from farms in the Southwest Region for competition and an educational display at the Ozark Empire Fair.

Southwest Central Regional Grazing School-Nevada, Mo.

Taught by MU Extension Regional Agriculture Specialists, as well as NRCS and Missouri state soil and water conservations district employeees. Topics covered included grazing management, livestock nutrition, grazing economics, soil fertility management, plant growth, cost share programs, layout/design/management of a grazing system, soil health, fencing and water. In addition there was tours of two grazing systems to provide demonstration and hands on education. By taking the class participants are eligible for MO State SWCD cost share and improve their chances of receiving NRCS EQIP cost share.
