Every three months, members of the Ozarks Country School Association receive a high quality 20-page newsletter full of information related to one-room schools in southwest Missouri. Articles include profiles on existing schools in the region, historical photos, information on restoration and renovation, memories of one-room schools written by former students and details about upcoming events. Members of the Ozarks Country School Association receive the newsletter as part of their $25 annual membership fee. The “Historic School Quarterly” is the newsletter of the Ozarks Country School Association. Back issues of the publication are available for purchase by the general public at a cost of $10 per issue plus shipping. An order form is available on the Greene County Extension website.

SW Region 4-H Achievement Day

The SW Region Achievement Day is an opportunity for 4-H Members who qualified at the county level to demonstrate their project skills and knowledge. Events include public speaking (prepared speech, extemporaneous, PSA, technology assisted and interpretation); fashion revue; personal development; project judging of top 10 projects in the region(shooting sports, horse, foods, beef, photography, arts & crafts, sewing, gardening, woodworking and dogs); and demonstrations (communications and creative arts, Home Ec., mechanical sciences, natural and plant sciences, animal science and leisure education). A talent show is also presented during the awards ceremony.
