    Winning Government Contracts: The First Steps

    Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate

    Description:

    SSSH is modeled after the evidenced-based StrongWomen program developed by researchers at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science at Tufts University. While the original Tufts program includes only women, University of Missouri Extension has adapted the curriculum to include men. Missouri’s Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase aging adults’ access to a safe, structured, and effective strength training program. Over the 10 weeks, participants learn exercises to improve their strength, flexibility and balance. At each session, a prescribed set of 8 upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.

    Missouri's Complex Fence Law

    Missouri's Complex Fence Law will offer insight into fence maintenance for row crop, livestock and small-acreage owners. The program helps landowners and renters understand their legal and financial responsibilities. The program includes updates on a Missouri fence law that went into effect in 2016. Missouri’s fencing laws are complex. The state has a general fence law and 19 counties have a local fence law. It is important for property owners and renters to understand the unique standards of each.

    Franklin County 4-H Interstate Exchange (Session 6 of 6)

    Description:

    Missouri 4-H is about young people discovering their interests with the guidance of caring adults. It’s about young people making friends and memories in clubs or other groups while honing their knowledge, skills, attitudes and health to lead in a complex and changing world.

    The interstate exchange is a two year partnerships between Franklin County and a county in another state.  In the two-year exchange each county hosts teens from the other county for one week, and travels to visit the other county.

    Interstate Exchange trip to Wayne County, New York

    Teens involved attend an orientation meeting and then commit to the program when enough details are available, usually by January of the 4-H Club year.
