Urban Orchard Series

When:  Wednesday, June 26, 2013, 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

NE Corner of Broadway and Anderson. Parking in the Montessori School parking lot (directly across Anderson from 719 W. Broadway) is ok if no after school hour event is ongoing.

Description:

Jim Quinn who led the early season pruning class will be hosting a Mid-Summer Fruit Review. A walk around the garden will feature fruit development or success with crop (e.g. strawberries), disease symptoms and insect damage, control (or lack of) of diseases and insect pests, strawberry renovation, etc.

This free event open to all. Please let us know you're coming. Berries from Jim's garden will be featured in Jello, with some interesting favor and berry combinations.

Session topic:

This is a combined event with the 4th class of the Hand's On Fruit Care Workshop Series. A walk around the garden will feature fruit development or success with crop, disease symptoms and insect damage, control (or lack of) of diseases, etc.

Take the fear out of using a pressure canner by attending this session. You will learn how to safely use a pressure canner to can vegetables, soups and meats.
