    Regional Grazing Schools teach producers how to improve forage production economic return while protecting the environment. Techniques include management intensive grazing,seasonal feeding systems, and fescue toxosis. The program inspires increased economic development and social viability in rural Missouri.

    Platte County Youth Explorer Series (Session 3 of 6)

    Open to all youth ages 8-13 years old to engage in hands on experiences over the following topics: gardening, native preservation, outdoor and nature, science and technology, animal science, and arts and communication.     Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (Session 7 of 16)

    Description:

    Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is an 8-week strength training program geared towards individuals age 60+ who are looking for a challenge in their current fitness routine. Participants meet twice weekly for 8 weeks and complete upper and lower body exercises that improve their muscle strength, balance and flexibility. All program equipment is provided.

    Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Level 1: Nevada @ Spring Village (Session 8 of 17)

    When:  Tuesday, June 25, 2019, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

    Description:

    Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) aims to provide inactive middle-aged and older adults with access to a safe, structured and effective exercise program capable of building muscle and increasing bone density, thus decreasing frailty, osteoporosis and the risk of falls. SSSH helps participants meet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s physical activity recommendations.

    SSSH challenges participants through incremental increases in exercise volume and intensity. Led by a certified instructor, participants complete a warmup, a prescribed set of upper- and lower-body strengthening exercises and a cool-down at each class. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.
