Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is 20 classes over 10 weeks strength training program for adults 60 years and older. The program’s goal is to improve health and quality of life. The program incorporates warm-up exercises, strengthening exercises, and cool down stretches. Over the ten weeks participants learn exercises to improve strength and balance. The class meets twice weekly and all equipment is provided.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is an eleven week program for middle-aged and older adults. The program's goal is to improve health and quality of life. We will be incorporating: warm-up exercises, simple strengthening exercises (with or without weights), and cool down stretches. Strength training can benefit you in many ways: Arthritis relief, improve balance, enhance flexibility, strengthen bones, weight control, lifts depression, stress reduction, reduce risks for heart disease, maintain healthy blood sugar levels, etc.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is an eight-week strength training program for middle-aged and older adults. The program’s goal is to improve health and quality of life. The class will meet twice a week.
We will incorporate warm-up exercises; simple strengthening exercises, with or without weights; and cool down stretches. Weights are provided for the class. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring water bottle and towel.

Healthy Lifestyle Initiative (Session 3 of 9)

This program will focus on issues involving becoming over weight and obese. Safe ways to lose weight on a non medically supervised program. Techniques to control over eating and safe exercise programs will be the primarey topics. A walking session will be included with most sessions. The Warren County Health Department will be partnering in the program.
Each session will discuss a different technique to aid in personal weight control. Exercise and food intake will be discussed at each session. An opportunity to weigh and exercise will be available at all class meetings. Planning ahead for meals.

Preserving the Harvest Home Food Preservation Series (Session 2 of 5)

High hay and grain supplement prices have made corn silage a more attractive energy supplement for beef cattle. Corn Silage Production for Beef Cattle Operations - Part 2 will discuss how to properly harvest, store, and feed corn silage to beef cattle.

Producers wanting to learn to identify pasture weeds and make control decisions are invited to attend a Pasture Weed Walk on June 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Don McCoy farm. The farm is located one-half mile north of the Highways 43 and 54 intersection, west of Nevada. A rain date is set for June 25. The address is 16462 South 1100 Road, Nevada. University of Missouri Extension Specialists, Pat Miller and Patrick Davis, will be there to identify weeds and answer grazing questions.
