A Matter of Balance Fall Prevntion Class (Pike Co.) (Session 4 of 8)

A Matter of Balance is an award winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. This program utilizes volunteer coaches to teach the eight two-hour sessions.
Recognize three important physical risk factors for falling (low blood pressure, leg weakness, poor flexibility and balance). Understand exercises that can affect these risk factors. Learn how assertive behavior can help prevent falls.
Call the Pike County Extension Center at 573-324-5464 to register. Space is limited to 25 people.
Pike-Ralls-Monroe Livestock Judging (Session 4 of 4)
When: Thursday, June 20, 2013, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

4-H members have the opportunity to practice decision making and communication skills while judging livestock.
The youth will judge classes of beef, sheep and swine and then give reasons as well as answer questions.
