Relatives As Parents--Northland Grandfamilies (Session 5 of 5)

When:  Tuesday, June 17, 2014, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Description:

The Northland Grandfamilies Program strives to raise awareness of issues facing grandparents/aunts/uncles who are raising grandchildren or nieces and nephews under the age of 18. In addition to providing support groups, programs and resources for the grandfamily participants; staff members also present informative programs and educational displays/exhibits throughout the Northland community to increase public knowledge and awareness. Venues include Parent Fairs, service club meetings, and volunteer trainings.

Session topic:

Northland Grandfamilies staff will provide a training on grandparents raising grandchildren to volunteers with the Clay County CASA program. An educational exhibit and resource display will also be available for the participants to review.
