Topics to be covered at the class are basic grazing concepts, livestock nutrition, forage quality and availability, plant growth, extending the grazing season, grazing economics, grazing calculations, evaluation of resources, fencing and water installation and equipment, grazing system layout and design, managing the total system and soil health, and NRCS cost share programs.

Water Protection Seminar (Vernon County)

Description:

Water is a finite resource that doesn’t recognize political or county boundaries. Protecting it from contamination is critical to the sustainability of the county and region.

Session topic:

This three-hour seminar will help explain groundwater flow, water quality and your well, and septic system operation and maintenance.

Registration:

A fee of $20 per person will help cover meal and seminar expenses. Pre-registration is required by Monday, May 12 to plan for food preparation and resource materials.
