    County Super Kid Day Camp

    Description:

    MU Extension 4-H youth development faculty and staff collaborate with partners to address youth and family issues in the community. Rather than providing programs or services directly to an individual young person, the focus is upon influencing systems — people, programs, policies and services that impact the lives of young people and their families.

    Mid-MO Expo: Small Farms to Backyard Gardens

    When:  Saturday, April 27, 2019, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Description:

    The day-long event covers a variety of topics for the beginning to advanced gardener. Participants will choose as many as 5 different workshops to attend from 23 different offerings. Learn how to raise food, including poultry, honey, vegetables and fruit – for home use and how to market it for sale. A complete listing of workshops is on our web site.

    SMQA Training (Session 3 of 4)

    Description:

    4-H Food Quality Assurance Policy
    All 4-H members enrolled in food animal projects (including beef, sheep, swine, dairy cattle, meat and dairy
    goats, rabbits, and poultry) must complete the appropriate level of Missouri Show Me Quality Assurance
    (MSMQA) certification to be considered a 4-H member in good standing in that project.

    This free Youth Livestock Production Workshop is to introduce those who are participating in livestock projects an opportunity for hands on learning and good management practices. This interactive workshop will give youth, adults and volunteers the confidence, skills and abilities to be successful in their livestock programs. By attending this workshop, participants will earn credit for taking the SMQA training and meet the qualifications of being eligible to show at the fair.
