Missouri Historic Schools Alliance has a mission to research, restore and maintain one-room schools in Missouri. Participants in this MU Extension program work with individuals and other state and national partnering organizations interested in preserving the state's one-room schools as a means of community and economic development. The Missouri Historic Schools Alliance works with groups and individuals to establish non-profit organizations to preserve these schools and encourage their ongoing use as active rural community hubs. A ten week strength training program designed for middle-aged and older adults. Participation in regular strengthening exercises will help you to build muscle and increase bone density, thereby helping to prevent frailty and osteoporosis. Strength training can benefit you in many ways, arthritis relief, improve balance, enhance flexibility, strengthen bones, weight control, lifts depression, stress reduction, reduce risks for heart disease, and maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

Youth Civic Leaders Summit

Youth Civic Leaders Summit is a statewide weekend retreat for 120-150 teens and adults from all over Missouri who are active or aspiring leaders and decision-makers in their communities. Teams of youth (ages 14-18) and adult leaders come together at the Summit to learn/network/plan/energize for transforming their communities through youth-adult partnerships and local civic engagement. Teams often represent countywide programs, Teen Councils, EXCEL Leadership programs, 4-H Councils, County Extension Councils: any group that values and practices youth voice and engagement.
