Youth Mental Health First Aid

Description:

A young person you know could be experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. You can help. You are more likely to encounter someone — friend, family member, student, neighbor, or member of the community — in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches a five-step action plan to offer initial help to young people showing signs of a mental illness or crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care. Anyone can take the eight-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid course, but it is designed for adults who work with young people, between 12 and 18 years old — teachers, coaches, leaders of faith communities, social workers, and other caring citizens. Sometimes the best first aid is you. Take the course, save a life, strengthen your community.

Taney County 4-H Achievers Meeting (Session 6 of 9)

4-H Countywide Project Saturdays (Session 2 of 4)

Spring Garden Seminar- 8th annual

Description:

There are a wide variety of presentations given throughout the day. Four rooms run concurrent sessions, five presentations in each, for a total of more than 20 to choose from! There is a keynote address at noon and lunch is provided. Presentation schedule is at this site ( http://extension.missouri.edu/cole/gardeningseminar.aspx ), with notes on those requiring extra costs for 'hand's on' activities. Registration is online this year. This event frequently sells out, so the registration deadline doesn't matter.

GrandFamily Informational Conference

Description:

This conference is designed to address issues facing grandparents raising their grandchildren and to guide them toward resources that may be available to help fulfill the family's needs. The event is FREE thanks to many sponsors! Event Topics include: Family Cohesiveness from Parent Link, Mental Health, Panel Discussion and a legal session from a local attorney. Children 5 and up will be supervised and get to play in the gym, do a crafts and swim. Children 3 months to 4 years will be supervised in the Stay N' Play.
