    2019 Missouri Blueberry School

    Description:

    The 2019 Missouri Blueberry School will be held in Springfield, Missouri and at area blueberry farms. The first day of the conference includes educational sessions on a wide range of blueberry topics, a blueberry farm profile, concurrent sessions for beginning and experienced blueberry farmers, updates on blueberry pest issues, and the annual meeting of the Missouri Blueberry Council. The second day of the Missouri Blueberry School will see conference attendees on two area blueberry farms, visiting with the producers and learning from on-farm demonstrations.     Elementary School Gardening Program (Session 4 of 6)

    When:  Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Description:

    This program is designed as a hands on gardening program with 1st and 2nd graders. The local FFA chapters will assist the young students in planting, growing and getting the plants home so they can be put in a garden. Allison Gunter will teach a program called" Eating From the Garden" prior to the hands on activity. Hickory County Master Gardeners will sponsor the program for Hickory County and the Dallas County SWDC will sponsor the program for Buffalo. Seed were donated by the Dallas County Farmer Exchange MFA in Buffalo, MO
