Clinton County Ag Update

When:  Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, 8:30 a.m. to noon

251 E 116 Hwy, Plattsburg MO map...

Private pesticide applicator training will focus on the use of dicamba resistant soybean technology. The new dicamba formulations are restricted use and so require a private applicator license. A training manual is required for licensing. If you have an old manual, please bring it to the meeting. All meetings will begin at 8:30 a.m. Following applicator training, the University of Missouri Agricultural Extension staff will present “Tips to Reduce Input Costs without Reducing Yield,” “Dicamba Injury and Insurance” and “Minerals and Vitamins for beef cattle: meeting requirements without breaking the bank.”

Managing Herbicide Resistant Weeds and the Dicamba Dilemma

When:  Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

21262 Genoa Road, Linneus MO map...

Dr. Mandy Bish, Research Specialist for Dr. Kevin Bradley from the University of Missouri Weed Science Department, will talk about managing herbicide resistant weeds and the dicamba dilemma. The program will include a spray table demonstration by Kent Shannon, MU Extension Ag and Natural Resource Engineer. Nozzle selection is one of the most important decisions to be made related to pesticide applications. The type of nozzle affects not only the amount of spray applied to a particular area, but also the uniformity of the applied spray, the coverage obtained on the sprayed surface, and the amount of drift that can occur.

No pre-registration is required
