Private Pesticide Applicator Training - Pesticides and Water Quality in Higginsville

Ag producers needing to obtain or renew their private pesticide applicator license for purchase of restricted-use pesticides can attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Training being offered in Higginsville. This license is valid for five years and participants must be 18 or older to receive the license. Training will be given on safe and proper use of agricultural pesticides.
Contact the Lafayette County Extension Center at (660) 584-3658 to reserve a seat, make accommodations due to a disability, or for more information.
Each household/family must own a Private Pesticide Applicator's Reference Manual (M87) to receive certification. The cost of the manual is $12. If you or an immediate family member already has a copy of the Reference Manual (2007 edition), please bring it to the training to waive the fee.

The Northland Early Education Council (NEEC) is a collaboration of agencies, organizations and educational institutions with the shared goal of providing high quality, accessible and affordable training opportunities for early care and education providers in the Northland area of greater Kansas City. A secondary goal is to provide regular venues for professional networking within the early childhood community. The NEEC is chaired by Diana Milne, Extension Human Development Specialist and administered through the Clay County/University of Missouri Extension Center.
The Northland Early Education Council board members meet monthly to conduct regular business; including the planning, promotion and evaluation of local trainings for early care and education professionals.
NEEC board meetings are open to anyone who has an interest in supporting and advancing the goals of the Northland Early Education Council. For more information on regular meeting dates, times and locations, contact the University of Missouri Extension Center at 816-407-3490.
Relatives As Parents--Northland Grandfamilies (Session 2 of 5)

The Northland Grandfamilies Program strives to raise awareness of issues facing grandparents/aunts/uncles who are raising grandchildren or nieces and nephews under the age of 18. In addition to providing support groups, programs and resources for the grandfamily participants; staff members also present informative programs and educational displays/exhibits throughout the Northland community to increase public knowledge and awareness. Venues include Parent Fairs, service club meetings, and volunteer trainings.
Northland Grandfamilies will be providing an educational exhibit & mini-workshop at Park Hill School District's annual "Parenting Fair". Learn more about this program which serves grandparents, aunts & uncles who are raising grandchildren/nieces/nephews.
