The First Steps to Starting a Business
When: Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This three-hour offering will provide you with an overview of the critical first steps associated with starting a business. It is designed specifically for those who are thinking about a new business venture. Participants will assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of business ownership, learn about the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements and identify sources of funding. Enroll in both this class and The Basics of Writing a Business Plan and receive a $10 discount.
If you are a dislocated worker you may qualify to attend this course at no charge. This includes those who have been downsized or have entered early retirement. Individuals who have been let go and are now in jobs for which they are overqualified are also eligible. Dislocated workers can attend this class at no charge if 1) a Missouri resident or 2) dislocated from a Missouri company. The normal $30.00 fee is covered by the Missouri Division of Workforce Development. In order to attend the FastTrac NewVenture course via dislocated worker scholarship, participants must attend The First Steps to Starting a Business and The Basics of Writing a Business Plan before they are eligible to enroll in FastTrac NewVenture.
