Family Medical Leave Act and Americans wtih Disabilities Act Compliance Seminar

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) continue to pose challenges in the workplace. Whether it's the employee on intermittent leave due to a chronic condition or the employee who has been off work for four months and keeps sayings he will be returning soon, HR professionals, in-house counsel, and business leaders must constantly balance business needs and the requirements of the ADA and FMLA. Without fundamental knowledge of the law and what it requires, ADA and FMLA compliance is difficult to obtain. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (Trenton, Nov-Dec 2016) (Session 8 of 18)

Description:

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is an eight-week strength training program for middle-aged and older adults. The program’s goal is to improve health and quality of life. The class will meet twice a week.

We will incorporate warm-up exercises; simple strengthening exercises, with or without weights; and cool down stretches. Weights are provided for the class. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring water bottle and towel.

Ag Lender's Seminar

Description:

The University of Missouri Extension will offer Missouri agriculture lenders insight into “Financing Agriculture in Changing Times” during a November 29th seminar at the Phelps County Courthouse in Rolla, Missouri. Ag lenders, land appraisers, and realtors will find valuable resources at this program. The MU Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics sponsors an annual statewide series of Ag lender seminars in cooperation with regional MU Extension specialists. Dr. Scott Brown, MU Ag Economist, will discuss the 2016-2017 livestock and grain outlook. USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Phelps County Executive Director Gregg Barrows will cover crops and livestock coverage under the provisions of the 2014 Farm Bill. Ray Massey will demonstrate the new AgSite Assessment tool developed by the University of Missouri. Patricia Barrett, Regional Ag Business Specialist, will share the current land and rental outlook for the surrounding counties.

Holiday Food Preservation: Gifts from the Home and Heart

University of Missouri Extension is offering a holiday food preservation program at the First Baptist Church of Lamar on November 29 from 6:00-8:30 PM. Attendees will learn about water bath and steam canning, as well as dehydration. Attendees will also learn how to make fruit butters and syrups, and fruit leathers. Homemade gifts are fun to make, a joy to give, and lovely to receive. Give from the heart this holiday season.

EatSmart For Childcare, Children's Hospital Early Childhood Center

This workshop discusses the importance of understanding of common food allergies, their cause and symptoms, and what a center must do to be prepared in case of an emergency.
