Building Better Child Care--Northland Early Education Council board meetings (Session 4 of 11)

The Northland Early Education Council (NEEC) is a collaboration of agencies, organizations and educational institutions with the shared goal of providing high quality, accessible and affordable training opportunities for early care and education providers in the Northland area of greater Kansas City. A secondary goal is to provide regular venues for professional networking within the early childhood community. The NEEC is chaired by Diana Milne, Extension Human Development Specialist and administered through the Clay County/University of Missouri Extension Center.
The Northland Early Education Council board members meet monthly to conduct regular business; including the planning, promotion and evaluation of local trainings for early care and education professionals.
NEEC board meetings are open to anyone who has an interest in supporting and advancing the goals of the Northland Early Education Council. For more information on regular meeting dates, times and locations, contact the University of Missouri Extension Center at 816-407-3490.
Winning Government Contracts: The First Steps

This introductory 3-hour seminar is an overview of the critical first steps associated with winning government contracts. The Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MO PTAC) host a bi-monthly seminar on how to get started in the government contracting arena including federal, state and local government registrations and certifications. The seminar will also cover MO PTAC services available to assist Missouri businesses in all aspects of government contracting.
The Missouri PTAC seminar is available to Missouri based businesses the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. Instructor: David Jerome

This two-hour offering is for current and future business owners and entrepreneurs who have little or no knowledge of writing a business plan."The Basics of Writing a Business Plan" is designed for business owners and managers who need to know how to create a business plan for their organization so the plan can be a useful management tool. During this course, participants will learn the importance of business plans, the key required elements of a basic plan and data that must be included.Participants will also get tips on writing style to make the business plan easier to understand and more professional in appearance. Participants will leave this session with a greater understanding of what their business plan should look like and how to get started writing one.It will also provide guidelines for style and appearance to help create a professional look for your business plan. Discussions are facilitated by business counselors who will help you examine your individual situation, explore opportunities and discover new ideas.
