    Ultrasound for carcass data - Forkner Farms (Session 23 of 26)

    Description:

    Ultrasound images are collected on-farm for carcass evaluation. Images are later interpreted for loin eye area and back fat thickness. Other data collection on-farm includes: ear notch, breed, sex, weight, farrowing date, and registration number. Measurements and data are sent to the producer and the National Swine Registry for genetic evaluation and improvement. Breeds include: Berkshire, Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace, and Yorkshire. Data is collected on cross bred boars.

    Farmers Tax Workshop

    For individuals wanting to know about changes to tax laws or have questions about taxes this free workshop is for you. Understanding taxes and changes to tax laws is a key part of success according to Kyle Whitaker, County Engagement Specialist in Agriculture and Environment for University of Missouri Extension.

    That is why Whitaker is offering a “Farmer Tax Workshop” from 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., Nov. 7th at the Webster County Extension building, 800 S. Marshall, Marshfield. There is no fee for the workshop.
