2017 Winter Blackberry Production Workshop

Description:

Blackberry production offers great potential for Missouri farmers. The Growing Blackberry Production and Sales in Missouri project includes blackberry production workshops in southwest Missouri and across the state, a demonstration blackberry planting at the MU Southwest Research Center in Mount Vernon that includes the rotating cross arm trellis and recently developed thornless blackberry cultivars, and blackberry promotional activities centered on the Webb City Farmers Market. Join the project team for upcoming workshops! The blackberry workshops focus on blackberry production through the growing season, with presentations and hands-on experience with new thornless cultivars and the innovative rotating cross arm trellis. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Level 1 CJ (Session 12 of 18)

When:  Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Description:

This is a low-impact strength training program for people who are 50 or better. The class meets for 1 hour, twice a week for 8 weeks to complete a series of eight exercises with a warm-up and cool down. This program helps participants increase their physical activity which may improve strength, balance and flexibility, resulting in reduced risk for falls, better overall health and greater independence.

Increasing Profitability Through Data Analysis

BizMiner is an analytical database that provides industry financial reports for over 30,000 banking professionals; hundreds of accounting, valuation, CRE and consulting firms; and universities.  The database provides industry financial ratios, balance sheet data, and detailed profit and loss statements, and industry market statistics.

Participants will learn key elements of comparing their current financial data or their proposed start-up business financial projections with industry standard financial data of firms within similar industries.
