Home Food Preservation for Holiday Gift Giving (Session 1 of 4)

Description:

Homemade food makes for a wonderful gift for people of all ages throughout the holiday season. Tins of Christmas coolies and candies are nice to give and receive in December, but a basket full of canned goods from your garden can last well into the New Year. In this fun, hands-on class, you will work with a small group and a knowledgeable instructor to preserve food safely and effectively. You will take away some of the food you make during class as well as ideas and recipes for other delicious holiday-inspired foods that are perfect for gift giving. Topics covered include: Making salsas Making jams and other sweet spreads Making pickles and relishes Preserving food using boiling water canning method and pressure canning Creative ideas for decorating jars and packaging
