    Description:

    The Mental Health First Aid training presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews common treatments.
    Participants who take the 8-hour course are certified as Mental Health First Aiders. They learn a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care. http://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/cs/program_overview/

    Tree Identification Class

    When:  Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Description:

    The Tree Identification Class is designed to teach participants how to identify common tree species found in a forest and a landscape. Each participant will receive a tree ID book and learn growth habits and uses of the different tree species. The class is designed to allow participants to make better selections when choosing a tree species to plant in a landscape. Learning forest tree species is also very important for anyone wanting to mange their timber for log production.
