MASTER GARDENER TRAINING 2012
Core Training - Training to become a Master Gardener will start on February 16 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the Butler County Extension Center on 222 N. Main Street in Poplar Bluff. Training will continue each Thursday for 11 weeks from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. If you are interested print and complete the application then mail to the office or fax it to (573) 778-8021. For questions contact the office at (573) 686-8064. Poplar Bluff Master Gardeners are a diverse group with members in the counties of Butler, Carter, Ripley, Stoddard and Wayne.

Master Gardeners
The Poplar Bluff Master Gardeners meet at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Butler County University of Missouri Extension center, 222 N. Broadway in Poplar Bluff. All are welcome to attend monthly meetings, which include informative gardening presentations. Invite friends and interested gardeners. Please call the extension office to confirm the location each month.
Ag Expo
Set up for Ag Expo will be Thursday, January 19 at 10:00 am. Meet at the office for loading and then we will move to the coliseum. Volunteers can work the booth on Friday or Saturday or at the Kids Activity Area on Saturday between 8:30 am and noon. Call the office to reserve a place on the schedule.
In-School Garden Program
The Poplar Bluff Master Gardeners continued to provide garden education to second graders in Butler, Carter and Reynolds counties in 2011. Progress reports revealed that many of the seeds that went home did well. Shown here is a pumpkin, planted by Kandence Reynolds, getting ready to turn orange before picking.
