What is Clover Kids? Clover Kids are 4-H members ages 5-7. They must be 5 years old by January 1 of the 4-H program year. (For example: a child may join in the fall of 1998 if their 5th birthday is before January 1 of each year. If the childs birthday is after January 1, then they must wait to join until the next 4-H year.) Clover Kids do not compete for ribbons or prizes. They do not participate in any 4-H projects. Clover Kids participate in activities that are structured for their age level. Clover Kids are introduced to 4-H and a wide variety of 4-H experiences. Clover Kids will be involved in activities led by an adult, who will help the 4-Hers learn how to get along and share with others, explore many different interests and learn basic living skills. Clover Kid members will also build self-confidence, learn to communicate effectively and learn to participate in a group. The ultimate outcome is that Clover Kids are so excited about 4-H they will continue their enrollment beyond the Clover Kids experience.
