4-H Councils and Committees
Volunteers-- Junior 4-H Council membership is open to all county 4-H members ages 13 and above. This special council for teens has a full slate of officers, bylaws and adult sponsors. Members participate in service, leadership, social and fundraising activities. They sponsor the Public Speaking Contest, BoCoMo carnival activities, the annual Recognition Night & Leaders Banquet. The Council also plans and leads the 4-H Club officers training. Junior 4-H Council meets once a month on the first Tuesday. Senior 4-H Council is the policy making and fundraising board for the 4-H clubs in Boone County. They have a full set of officers and bylaws. Each club has one voting representative to the council. Clover Kids and Junior 4-H Council also have voting representatives. Council committees are open to anyone (committee members must enroll with the county office as volunteers, unless already enrolled as leaders). Committee Chairs report to the Sr. Council. The treasurer receives and dispenses all local 4-H funds for the county. The Senior 4-H Council meets at the Boone Co. Extension Center on Highway UU near the I-70 Midway exit (call 445-9792 for directions). The meetings are open to the public and everyone interested in Boone County 4-H is welcome to attend. Senior 4-H Council meetings begin at 7 pm.
