Establish New Postage Fund (Subclass)

Information for the new Postal changes to replace Penalty Mail may be reviewed at the UOE Administrative Management web site. 

Each Extension office is allocated an annual Postage amount based on a formula.  The Postage Allotment is offset by the amount of the LAN Internet cost charged to your office.  In QuickBooks, this gives us a good opportunity to consider the following:

• use Class 2000 or create a subclass under Class 2000 to track income and expenses related to the new Postage Fund,
• create a new postage income account.
• use existing expense accounts:

3600-Postage
4400-Rent/Lease Equipment
5100-Supplies

• create Deposit Transaction to show actual Postage Income and actual LAN expense.
• transfer postage income or expense.
