September 1, 1998 County councils set schedule for program development and staffing review work to be done in the counties. (Note deadlines for completion of county tasks below)
September 15, 1998 Program development and staffing review orientation and training for staff and councils completed via TCRC presentation
September 15, 1998 County councils set dates and places for deliberative group session(s) in the county
October 28, 1998 Short presentation at Annual Conference, covering steps to date and remaining steps
December 1, 1998 Deliberative group sessions will be completed in all counties
December 15, 1998 Summary of priorities for each county shared with regional director and associate vice president, powers@umsystem.edu
March 15, 1999
  • Background information reviewed and compared with priorities from deliberative group session(s) and final set of priorities developed
  • Current programs offered in the county reviewed to determine which should be continued, revised or retired
  • New program initiatives identified to meet new or unmet needs
  • Draft of updated county program plan prepared and circulated to those who participated in the deliberative group process; form provided for feedback
April 24, 1999 Presentations on the status of program development and review of remaining steps made at each of the five area MECCLC conferences
June 1, 1999 Final county program plans completed and submitted electronically to regional director and associate vice president’s offices
June 15, 1999 Copies of county program plans made electronically available to program directors/campus program leaders
July 1, 1999 Schedule and procedures available for conducting asset mapping and staffing review (for field and campuses)
July 15, 1999 First draft of updated statewide program framework completed
September 1, 1999 Final statewide program plan document completed and shared with councils, staff and other stakeholders in "summary" form
October 1, 1999 First draft of recommendations from asset mapping and staffing review completed and ready for review by councils, regional councils, MECCLC, and regional and campus-based faculty
December 1, 1999 Review and input on staffing review and recommendations completed
January 15, 2000 Final recommendations and implementation plan for staffing completed
