Don Pfost, associate professor emeritus of agriculture engineering, and his family for the loss of his wife, Wilma Elizabeth Pfost, on Sept. 27, 2012.
Margaret Mobley and the family of Don Mobley, retired livestock specialist, Atchison County, who passed away Nov. 24, 2012.
Dennis Meyer and his family on the death of Jeanne Meyer, Dec. 6, 2012. Jeanne was a 37-year veteran of the university, most recently working at Extension Technology and Computer Services.
The family of "Clem" Koenig, former extension farm management specialist in Chillicothe, who died Dec. 29, 2012.
Tom Johnson, agriculture economics professor, and his family on the death of his daughter Jill, Jan. 20, 2013.
Pat Buchanan, retired assistant to the associate vice provost, and her family upon the Feb. 12, 2013, death of her husband, Walter (Tom) Buchanan, retired business and industry specialist who served 21 counties in northwestern Missouri. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Pat and Tom Buchanan Endowed Fund at MU. The fund is used to support professional development for MU Extension faculty. Contributions can be sent to MU Extension Development, 109-F Whitten Hall, Columbia, MO 65211.
The family of Melvin K. McLean, longtime MU Extension professional, who died April 7, 2013, in St. Joseph. McKean retired in 1978 as director of the four-county ABCD area based in Buchanan County.
The family of Robert Chapple, retired natural resources engineering specialist and one of the namesakes of the Graves-Chapple Research Center in northwestern Missouri, died May 12 at the age of 81. Though he officially retired in 1999, Chapple continued to work at the research center in Rock Port until last fall, helping during planting and harvest seasons, conducting field day tours, fixing machinery and managing research plots.
The family of Virginia L. Shain, former Northwest and West Central 4-H and continuing education specialist, who died on May 25.
The family of Roger Mitchell, former MU dean of extension (1972-1975) and dean of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (1983-1998), died on June 14, 2013, at the age of 80.
Condolences go out to John and Rita Pelham on the loss of their 48-year-old son Keith on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, after he suffered a stroke. Services were held in Texas on Aug. 17. Cards may be sent to John and Rita Pelham, 8913 Green Leaves, Granbury, TX 76049. John was program director of Family Strengths and Youth Development.

Don Nicholson has been named a MU Extension transition team leader.
Max Summers, interim director of extension’s statewide Business Development Program, has accepted a three-year assignment as a transition leader of program integration.
Associate Vice Provost for Extension Management Services Rhonda Gibler succeeded Tim Rooney as MU’s director of budget, Jan. 1, 2013.
Joy Millard, former conference office director, was appointed interim assistant vice provost for MU Extension early in 2013.
Shelley Bush-Rowe is now Northeast regional director. Bush-Rowe has served MU Extension as a regional community development specialist for 20 years.
Mark Stewart is now East Central regional director. Stewart has served MU Extension as a livestock specialist for more than 30 years.
Jay Chism is Southwest regional director. Chism joined MU Extension in 2004 as an agronomy specialist for Polk and Barton counties.
Wayne Prewitt is West Central regional director. Prewitt joined MU Extension in 1985 and has served as a regional agriculture specialist in the areas of farm management and agriculture business.
Cynthia Zluticky serves as Urban regional director. Zluticky joined MU Extension in 2002 as county program director in Jackson County.
Dennis Gagnon, communications director for the City of Kansas City, Mo. since 2010, was appointed director of communications for MU Extension, December 2012.
Cynthia Crawford, family financial education specialist in Saline County, was named director of donor education for MU Extension, Jan. 1, 2013.
As the program director and assistant dean for the College of Engineering, Steven L. Devlin was named director of the Business Development Program, effective April 8, by MU Extension and the MU College of Engineering.
Sam White, labor education specialist, left the Labor Education Program to take a position as an associate professor of industrial relations with the Institute for Labor Studies and Research at West Virginia University.
Eighteen-year veteran of MU Extension Jewel Coffman has been appointed interim director of the MU Conference Office.
Christopher Bouchard has been named the state director of Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Centers, effective June 1, 2013. Bouchard had served as interim director of SBTDC since 2009.
