MU Extension is the University of Missouri’s classroom in Marion County. We connect people to research-based education to enrich the quality of life and enhance the economic well-being of our communities.

MU Extension partners with the Marion County Commission and other local organizations to provide education, information and services that meet people’s needs. The elected and appointed members of the Marion County Extension Council provide guidance in identifying those needs to ensure that our educational programs are relevant, reliable and responsive.

Local highlights

Marion County 4-H Family Favorites cookbook now available

This cookbook is dedicated to the thousands of 4-H members, volunteers, and community supporters that have, for nearly 100 years, devoted their time, their energy, and their resources to help Marion County young people become strong, self-reliant, and competent individuals. The Marion County 4-H Council has collected the best recipes from 4-H members, family and friends and compiled them into an attractive keepsake cookbook. 

The cookbook contains nearly 375 well-loved recipes from some of Marion Counties best cooks,  including appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and many others.  Hard cover with a plastic-spine binding. Recipes include the contributor’s name, enabling you to find the recipes of family and friends.

All proceeds will go to the Marion County 4-H Council. $15 per copy. Checks payable to Marion County 4-H Council. Contact the Marion County Extension Center to order.
 

2010 Marion County Platbook now available

The 2010 Marion County Missouri Platbook contains landownership maps showing acreage and parcel boundaries by township; aerial views of the public and private roadways; and maps of waterways, railways and section lines. The book includes boundary maps for municipalities, political townships, school districts and zip codes. Wall maps also are available. Platbooks are $25 each, maps $25. Both are available at the extension center in Palmyra.
