36th Annual Cole County Extension Fall Festival
Applications have been mailed to interested vendors for the 36th Annual Fall Festival. This event will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Jefferson City Jaycees Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from this event go back to the Cole County Extension Center to support local programs and for upkeep of the Extension Center. Fall Master Gardener Classes
Master Gardener classes are held twice a year in Cole County, in the spring and in the fall, and each session lasts 12 weeks. The next series will begin on August 13, and will be held for the next 12 Monday's with the exception of Labor Day. All classes will be held at the Cole County Extension office. The fee for the entire series is $135 + 30 hours of volunteer service by Nov. 30, 2013. Your Financial Game Plan
Go from Financial Bench Warmer to a Star. Learn winning family financial strategies by attending one of Coach Mason's workshops! You will definitely score big by learning how to: stop spending more than you earn, focus on needs not wants and make a financial game plan that works. Attend one of the classes. Business programs for new businesses
Chris Thompson, Cole County business specialist, hosts classes, including Starting a Small Business: The First Steps and The Basics of Writing a Business Plan, for new businesses almost every month. Interested? Visit our Business programs page or email Chris at thompsoncv@missouri.edu.
Join 4-H
There are 11 active 4-H Clubs in Cole County, and you don't have to grow up on a farm to belong to 4-H. Currently, Shooting Sports is the fastest growing project but with so many choices to choose from, almost anyone can find something that they enjoy. 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-18. Master Gardeners
Central Missouri Master Gardeners meet most months at McClung Park at 6 p.m. except in January and December. These meetings are open to all.
