NW MO Master Gardeners meet the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Buchanan County Extension Center, 4125 Mitchell Avenue, St. Joseph.

We are currently in the process of compiling a membership directory.  If you are a Northwest Missouri Master Gardener, please complete the membership form (PDF) and email to Nicole or fax at 816-279-3982.

2014 Master Gardener Classes

Classes will begin April 10, 2014. The cost for Master Gardener training is $110 per person, or $195 per couple. Master Gardeners are adults of all ages who love gardening and who have some previous gardening experience. They are members of the local community who are interested in lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, gardens, and the environment.  If you are interested in becoming a Master Gardener in the future, you can complete the form (PDF) requesting further information or contact Nicole at Buchanan County Extension office, 816-279-1691.

2014 Plant Sale

The 4th Annual Plant Sale is planned for Friday and Saturday April 25 and 26 this spring. The sale is held at Missouri Westen State University's Agenstein-Remington Hall, north entrance. Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until sellout. There will be an assortment of plants offered, including heirloom tomatoes and other vegetables, wildflowers, herbs, and hostas. Other perennials and annuals will also be available, so be sure to come early for the best selection. The plant sale is a fundraiser for Northwest Missouri Master Gardeners and Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society.  Feel free to share the flier (PDF).

2014 Garden n' Grow

In the Garden n' Grow program, youth aged 9 to 13 learn not only vegetable gardening, but also other science, math, and language arts skills while having fun. Participants are guided by Master Gardeners and Tom Fowler, horticulture specialist. Tomato Fest! 2014

The Third Annual Tomato Fest! has been planned for Thursday, Aug. 28.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.
